Philosophy
We come together in Jannali – Yanad(a)i which means “place of the moon”.
The Little Ones Early Learning Centre was formed on the lands of the Dharawal People. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People as the Traditional Custodians of this land, we are respectful of their connection to the land, water, and community on which we come together.
The land on which we come together provides us with all we need, educators guide children to develop an appreciation for the natural environment. Children are encouraged to understand the impact and active role we have to look after the animals, plants, land and water, preserving for now and the future. Our sustainable practices guide us to take an active role in caring for the environment.
The Little Ones Early Learning Centre aims to provide a safe and secure environment for children to play, learn and grow.
Through engagement we believe that children teach us as educators as much as we teach them. Beauty can be found in so many things, especially in the eyes of a child.
Children and family’s input is embraced and is the foundation of the daily program. Together we hope to share and embrace celebrations, customs, traditions, and cultures to broaden our understanding of the world around us. We celebrate diversity and the opportunities this brings to learn and know more about the world.
We believe every child is unique and regardless of race, gender, religion, culture, ability, or socioeconomic background (ECA -Code of Ethics 2023). Each child is valued and respected in an environment that promotes learning from a curriculum guided by the “Early Years Learning Framework V2”and the “National Quality Standards”.
Our educators are committed to contributing to each child’s learning journey, fostering a sense of being, belonging and becoming. Children are encouraged to explore the engaging environment we provide, aiming to support each child’s individual growth and developmental journey.
Through a positive learning space children can explore, experiment, and express their creativity and wonder in a safe, secure and supportive environment. The rights and best interest of the child are the forefront of our daily practices, whilst the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children at The Little Ones is imperative to our day.
Educators are encouraged and supported in maintaining a high quality of professionalism. This we believe comes through professional development, ambition, expression and exposing innovation. We also believe it is our responsibility to respond to children’s interests, consistently encouraging them to think outside the box. Educator’s voices, personal philosophies and ideas will always be valued and respected. All educators are committed in working together to be actively involved within all programs, daily routines, and the environment.
At The Little Ones, we strive to provide a caring environment for your “Little One” where families, children and educators share a sense of togetherness, fostering a warm and welcoming environment, forming positive and reciprocal relationships.
